not your typical oil leak GS500?

seems to be from between the two crankcase havles at the front left corner



is there a gasket between these two surfaces?

Ooooh, big photi.
According to Haynes the crank case halves are sealed by a sealant -
but inside are loads of oil seals , which can be deteriorated, as well as the sealant itself.
For specifics the more hands-on mechanical members please help!

Thats just above the oil filter. Does it split again below the head?

it splits from sump to lower crank case.
lower crank case to upper crank case.
upper crank case to cylinder block.
cylinder block to cylinder head.

looks like a main gasket leak to me, looks like the oil way at the front is leaking through a deteriated gasket, a pic from a different angle looking down at it would help

the bikes in a lockup a few miles from home with no leccy so i need to wait till tomorrow before i can get back to check it out with some daylight.

im thinking a gaskets gone too...so there is one between the two crank halves?

ill get more pics tomorrow.
