Ever since I rebuilt my GS a couple of years ago, something has been bugging me about the centre stand. When the stand is up (not in use) it touches the metal part which connects the shock and dog bones. Now I am sure this is not right. Am I missing some kind of stopper that limits how high the stand can go?
Probably. There should be a U-shaped bracket with a rubber stop on the exhaust down-pipe just before it joins the silencer. I suspect you are possible not using a standard exhaust system.

Yep, we had the same with our first GS, some numpty (present company excepted) had fitted a R6 can and had sawn the downpipe too short. Second one we did the job proper and set the pipe lengths so we could swap the standard silencer back on for a couple of days either side of the MOT.
hi, if your still after a center stand stopper i might have one as i took my center stand off when i fitted my scorpion exhaust so let me know and ill have a rumage. Cheers Gaz
