Aftermarket brake lever for '03 gs500?

I need to replace the brake lever on my '03 gs500. My local dealer only has a listing for the factory part which runs close to $100. Meanwhile the '02 and '04 both have listings for $22 aftermarket levers,,,nothing listed for aftermarket in '03.
My question is, will the 02 or 04 lever fit my 03 ?

Looking at the parts fiche they changed in 2003 so you would need to find out if yours is a pre 2003 or later model then buy the right aftermarket lever.
If your GS is faired it will be a GS500f which will be the 2004 lever and if not the 2002 will fit.
According to Wiki they didn't sell a 2003 model in the US.
£48 so it would be close to $100.

Thank you chelskitel, How would I know if mine is pre-2003 or later ? ...VIN maybe ?
Mine is not faired, but rather the naked gs500, does that mean the 2002 lever will work ?
I also have read that they did not produce an '03 in the US, which leaves me quite confused as to how I have ended up with one in Canada.
Thanks for your time..

I had a GSK2 but it was on an 03 plate which was when it was registered.

And I got a pattern lever no probs.

Ya, my plate is stamped "MFD in 03/03" "Made in Spain"

So Bill, you also agree the '02 aftermarket will work ?
