Nice looking machine Paula! What did your other half have to do when you got it?
Be aware some views & comments may come across as rude/harsh/offend but please take nearly all of it in good spirit, great bunch of guys on here that are willing to assist with all including the most mundane of tasks. (except the washing up)
Ps welcome nice to have another female on here might reduce testosterone levels a little.

gs 500
Hi ian my husband had to paint the frame in places as well as colour matching the tankhad a few chips in it. He had to clean carbs out and the tank. Serviced it oil change, spark plugs etc. Changed the mirrors ! Lol I couldn't see a thing out the standard ones lol oh he took the exhaust system off and re painted it but I'm hoping he will buy me a new one ( love you husband ) lol and it had a bloody good clean ! Engine wise it was spot on I can nearly keep up with my husband lol. Its a shame I can't ride any of his bikes , I can't touch the floor on them lol I'm only 5ft3 and struggled to find a instructor that had a bike I could touch the floor on!

Well done hubby, if you want to lower the GS to be more comfortable longer dogbones will do the trick.

shorty
I find the gs just the right height I can just touch the floor lol but its not an uncomfy position. My husband has a tl1000r and a triumph 1200 daytona oh not forgetting his dnepr flat twin lol but if the bike is more than 28 inches wide no matter how low they are I struggle to touch the floor lol

Bill, you naughty man - you're trying to turn this thread into another exhaust header bolt thread. We haven't had one of those since Tuesday

I'm jealous - always wanted a Trumpet (I was born in Meriden). Bill was considering a Bonny recently.

triumph
My husband loves it lol he had a speed triple t509 up til 4 weeks ago he sold it to buy the tl. He has one of the rare ones only made 300 in the yellow and its mint. I would love a sports bike but I'm happy with the gs and its practical for work so I will wait til next year and buy a second bike for playing x

I wondered about the exhaust as it may add to the pool of knowledge as you all know they can be a bit of a bugger to say the least. If Paula's hubby could add to that knowledge it may benefit everyone. Were the bolts stainless in which case they will have been out before.
And Paula have you thought about shaving off the front sides of the seat so the legs go straight down instead of slightly out..

If Paula's husband can manhandle a Speed Triple 'round corners, four header bolts shouldn't bother him
